Why can calendar age differ from total days divided by 365?
Months and years have different lengths, and leap years add extra days. Calendar age advances on calendar anniversaries, so it should be calculated with calendar boundaries.
How are leap-day birthdays handled?
For a February 29 birth date, anniversary calculations are clamped to the last valid day of February in non-leap years. This keeps the calculation deterministic while acknowledging that legal or cultural birthday treatment may differ.
