What does hourly pay convert to annually?
Annual gross pay depends on the hourly wage, the hours you are paid for in a typical week and the number of those paid weeks. For a different task, the Hourly Paycheck Calculator estimates a paycheck after applicable deductions.
How to convert hourly wage to salary
Enter the hourly rate and regular paid hours in a typical week. Add premium hours separately if applicable, then enter how many weeks follow that schedule. The optional multiplier defaults to 1.5 when premium hours are entered.

Formula for gross annual pay
Weekly gross equals regular hours times wage plus premium hours times wage times multiplier. Multiply by paid weeks for annual gross. Divide the annual amount by 12, 26 or 52 for the displayed monthly, biweekly and calendar-week averages.
For an optional practice or checking aid, browse weekly planners (paid link). Mark paid weeks and expected time off.
How to read the paid-week diagram
The 52 cells represent an annual count. Gold cells are modeled paid weeks and gray cells are other weeks. The diagram summarizes how many weeks are paid without assigning specific dates to them.
If you are setting up a practice or review session, browse budget notebooks (paid link). Record pay averages and expected deductions separately.
Worked examples with and without premium hours
At $25 an hour for 40 hours a week over 52 paid weeks, gross pay is $52,000. Add five premium hours at 1.5× and use 50 paid weeks for $59,375 per year. Use the Work Hours Calculator to total a shift schedule before choosing a typical week.
For optional equipment or reference material, browse desktop calculators (paid link). Recheck hours times wage on paper.
Pay and overtime assumptions
These results model gross pay and a repeating schedule. The hours and multiplier are inputs. Federal, state and employer rules can affect eligibility and the regular rate. Payroll rounding, taxes, benefits, bonuses and variable schedules can change actual pay.
