What is the Army Fitness Test?

The Army Fitness Test uses five scored events: deadlift, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank and a two-mile run. The calculator scores those events using the Army’s published June 2025 tables.

How to calculate an Army AFT score

Choose your published age band and the standard that applies to your test. Select the applicable general scoring table when using the general standard. Enter the scored deadlift load in pounds, push-up repetitions and the three times in m:ss format.

Army score lookup and passing thresholds

Each event earns the highest published score whose performance threshold is met, up to 100. The general standard requires 60 per event and 300 overall. The combat standard requires 60 per event and 350 overall using the M/C column.

For an optional practice or checking aid, browse workout logbooks (paid link). Record event performance and the corresponding test date.

How to read the event radar

Each axis represents one event on a 0–100 point scale. The highlighted polygon connects your event scores and the dashed shape marks 60 points per event. Use the separate total to check the selected overall threshold.

If you are setting up a practice or review session, browse running lap counters (paid link). Track laps during a measured practice run.

Worked example for the 17–21 M/C column

A 150 lb deadlift, 15 push-ups, a 2:28 sprint-drag-carry, a 1:30 plank and a 19:57 run each meet the 60-point threshold. The 300-point total meets the general requirement. For run split planning, use the Pace Calculator.

For optional equipment or reference material, browse training cones (paid link). Mark practice lanes on a suitable surface.

Scoring scope and special cases

Use this for the five-event test with the standard two-mile run. Alternate aerobic events, profiles, administrative exceptions and unit-specific requirements need official review. The oldest Army table heading is displayed as published. Confirm the correct column with your unit if age 62.
